I have quite a few movies in my movies folder and when I bring them up in Front Row, and the list of movies show, I click the remote to go through the list of movies but it takes a while for it to get to the next movie with the little window at the side showing a rpeview. on my friends 17" core duo macbook pro, as soon as he clicks the remote, theres no lag. is it because he has 2 gb of ram?? i only have 1 gb ram, but ive got the core 2 duo processor.

Could the speed of whatever the movie is stored on, the size of the files, the codec used... those sorts of things.

It could be because of the RAM. Check your ram usage in the Activity Monitor. Do you see a lot of page in/outs?
