    I got used to CPU-Z, GPU-Z, hwmonitor on windows.
    any similar apps for the mac?

    iStat menus is not bad, I havent used CPU-Z in while so I dont know how it compares but its worth a try.

    iStatPro is a decent one. I really like it because of the Dashboard widget. You can always run CPU-Z etc. in Wine.

    CPU-Z can run in Wine, but not GPU-Z
