I'm just wondering what everyone thinks is going to happen in October besides the release of Leopard...

Personally, I think that the MacBook with Santa Rosa and LED is highly expected but I think that if that's all they were doing to the MacBook that they would've done that already... So I'm thinking there's some new technology in the MacBook that we haven't been notified of. I'm thinking of multitouch touchpad rumor I saw on www.macrumors.com Kind of like the iPhone, except with more gestures and it'll be for the MacBook's touchpad.

    What does everyone else think?

I don't think the MacBook will receive that large of an update in October...its not doubt multi-touch will eventually be used into the Macs but I don't see it happening so soon. I can see a major multi-touch update in Macworld 2008, but October will be about Leopard and Apple will want the media talking about Leopard. January (or somewhere between October and Macworld 2008) will be the time for the media to rave about something else.

By the way, I'm back from vacation now :p.

I guess that's true but surely there's more to the macbook then Santa Rosa and LED otherwise they would've updated by now

Wow... I was thinking they'd leave the LED a "Pro"-only feature for a while.

hmm i could imagine trackpad gestures... that would be very sweet.

sounds like it could be implemented in software.

It is Tuesday. I was referring to Wednesday as in the day after the new products drop.

I'm excited for this also. We are going to be buying a Mac Mini soon for work.

What's the procedure if Apple were to drop the Mac mini? I'm guessing they'd be on sell in the clearance section for less than current cost?

yeah that's what I meant, the trackpad gestures kind of like the "pinch" and "reverse pinch" on the iPhone but something more suitable for the macbook
