    Hey guys,
I must agree with some earlier posters that the text in OS X is terribly fuzzy compared to text in Windows. Regardless of how you set the text in OS X regarding the strong or light effects you can change, the text looks blurry and not as sharp as windows. Is there any way to use microsoft cleartype in OS X?
The text is undeniably less clear then in windows and I am using Firefox in both cases. Does anyone know how to clear up the text in OS X? This is definitely something that windows does better then OS X.

I think when Apple messes up they try to make it into some sort of strength. I do not see how fuzzier text is in any way better then clearer text. The whole thing seems fishy to me.

Im sure apple will copy microsoft's technology soon enough, and then the apple fanbois will turn around and scream about microsoft copying apple, like they usually do.

    please read

    http://www.joelonsoftware.com/items/2007/06/12.html

Apple is more accurate in terms of seeing on screen what will be printed. some parts of the type faces are actually slightly changed, although very subtle.

MS fits text into pixels, to allow for less blurry edges, but is less accurate to what will be printed.

as far as Apple will copy Microsoft, Waa waa waa . . .yawn, and read what yo u wrote again, that doesn't even make sense.

you will get used to both eventually, just give it time, I guarantee that you will, and you will completely forget about this even being an issue.
