With any luck, the Santa Rosa refresh for the Macbook will include Intel's new integrated GPU, the X3000. While it's still not what you could call a gaming GPU, hardware T&L will at least make gaming feasable.

It still won't run Oblivion at max, but then again nothing can... ;)

Can I play these games on my MBP?

Oblivion (low), BF2/1942 (med/high), Rome: Total War (med/high), HL2 (maxed out), Halo (maxed out), Prey (med), Crysis (low).

The things in perenthesis are the settings I'd like to play them on. If I can't play them on the setting stated, let me know how it would look at the best playable settings.

    EDIT: To clarify X1600 128mb, 2gb ram

If oblivion will run on a Dell Latitude D820, your MBP should not have any problems.

It's got at least a Core 2 Duo, x1600, and 1GB of memory. Therefore, you will be fine on low settings, but you'll probably be able to push either a higher res or higher settings.

Yeah, I haven't played a lot of those, but it can run Oblivion in med-low settings. And thats on my underclocked x1600. Crysis I'm not so sure. From what I've seen, it will take a power house video card to run even at fairly low settings. But thats not from personal experience.

You should probably be fine on most all of those games.

I'd say you should be able to get pretty close to the setting you want to run on all the games. As always, keeping AA, AF and resolutions down on laptops are easy ways to be able to crank up settings.
