I'm a bit confused as to what to do about getting new drivers.

When in Boot Camp (with XP Pro), we use Apple's drivers for the trackpad and such, right?

So would going to a site like LaptopVideo2Go and downloading the latest drivers for the 9600 help at all? Or are we relegated to using the drivers that Apple gives us?

That's true. I'll try some TF2 later...are you using external keyboard? I find it really hard to use the MBP one.

I would be interested to know what drivers other people are using. Under stock drivers I get like 75-78 degrees under load which I've heard is pretty average. I was thinking of grabbing 178.24 drivers. I'm a bit hesitant to grab the latest beta drivers as I've read that they break TF2 and lead to instability.

I'm still using stock drivers. I was going to use updated ones or w.e but I played cod4 and it was solid so I just stuck with the stock ones. If you do get other drivers tell me/us how it goes (gains? heat? etc?).

im having no problems with the MBP keyboard, the only thing is that sometimes i press Fn key instead of Ctrl to crouch..

apart from that, no troubles.. maybe the edges are a little sharp..

Oh ok ummm this is kinda unrelated but when you go back to OS X or when in turn on your computer in general do you have a "untitled" disk/drive mounted? Is it there because I have boot camp set-up?

didnt try it on the vmware, it would probably work as the image is unmounted when you boot the vmware..

I went into vmware change the name from "Local Disk (C: )" to "Boot Camp partition" and now (just restarted computer) instead of the "untitled" drive/image/disk its now "Boot Camp Partition" lol. I guess it didn't work...

So, yeah looks like 178.24 drivers actually decreased my 3dmark06 score by about 100 points to 5750. I'm thinking Apple did some internal testing and decided that stock 176.44 drivers were best. Just went back down to stock and I'm back up around 5840.

i just played TF2 with the game running in a window for about 3 hours (i know, waste of my time).. the temps were averaging around 72 degrees, which i think its pretty good
