I've been noticing whenever I run XP in boot camp I'll get the BSod much more often than running XP on a dedicated Windows machine. For example I got the BSoD the other day while just attempting to save my Word doc. I'll get BSoD for other weird reasons like switching the screen resolutions, closing windows, and opening simple programs. I never had problems like this with my old laptops. For some reason I think Apple is just doing this so users will think Windows OS are more prone to crashes.

I've NEVER had a BSOD while running XP on any of the MacBooks that I've had over the last year.

You probably have some dodgy drivers installed by accident. You could try reinstalling your Windows, or update/reinstall Boot Camp drivers. But, chances are it's some third party driver which you installed after Boot Camp that's causing the problems. I'm assuming you have no problems in OS X?

How often do the bootcamp drivers get updated?
Regards,
Simon -
Not often enough, I am afraid. I would personally check it every 2-3 months.

Review and make sure that you are running the appropriate XP level with the correct drivers being made available by Apple.
Make sure that you get them from official sources and not from doggy sites or mediums.
Smelling a flame bait here, totally irrelevant to your issue, since the vast majority of BootCamp users hardly ever experience BSOD.

Is your Windows legal, and up-to-date?
-
BootCamp is pretty much an afterthought for Apple. Their drivers generally are not up to date or missing features.
-
are u using aa mouse or the trackpaad?
-
I've never had a BSoD using my trackpad in XP, but I've heard a lot about it happening in Vista 64.
-
I haven't installed any 3rd party drivers, just the ones that came on the OSX disk. Nope my OSX is fine and windows runs like a charm in VMware.
-
How hot is your macbook pro getting under bootcamp?
Maybe it's a heat issue.
Regards,
Simon -
It could very well be a heat problem that is sending it into a BSoD to protect it from frying. That's a very likely possibility, so make sure there's nothing blocking the fans and make sure there's no dust or dirt covering any internals.
