Even though the desktop refresh took quite awhile, it is to my understanding that you can expect a refresh with Macbooks and MBP's every 6 to 8 months, which should put the refresh sometime between 8 days from now (unlikely) to 2 months and 8 days from now.

Is that a likely assumption, or am I missing something here. And yes, I am well aware of the CPU speed bump in the top two MBP's, what I am talking about is an all around refresh, with exception to body structure obviously.

Didnt they just upgrade the MBPs ? The 17" unibody MBO is just out. The processor on the 15" has just been upgraded. And DDR3 ram ?

At the earliest (beyond a CPU bump), the next big refresh will not happen until after Intel releases the Calpella/Nehalem mobile platform later this year (it was recently announced that they were pushing it back from Q2 to mid-Q3), and then Apple is likely to be several months behind that since historically they are usually one of the last OEMs to incorporate any new platform.

Your basically talking specifically about a MacBook refresh...

All i'd say is cheaper base price with more upgrade options...

or maybe a 2.53/2.66 GHz option? Wait... those are the old C2Ds...
I dont think a cpu upgrade is on the line since that would bring the MB too close to the 15" MBP

The only thing I can really think of is more upgrade options or 320GB base...

I'd rather go with Q3 refresh where well most likely see everything I mentioned

You sure about that? They have had some processors come out in their stuff that was new to the market.
