Sometime within the next year hopefully I plan to move into using Macs. I wouldn't be able to save enough money for a Macbook, but I'm asking what a good price for an iBook G4 (At least specs) 1GHz, 256MB ram, 30GB HDD, CD-RW/DVD ROM, 12" screen, airport (wireless) card, OSX Panther. I buy stuff on craigslist locally, so that's where I'd be looking. What would be good prices for at least those specs right now and in a year? The reason I'm on a budget is because I had to buy a car and pay for repairs, I'm keeping that car for about 2 1/4 years and then getting a better car for college (which is what I need to save for). At the same time I want to move into the Mac world (but not give up my PC due to most apps not working w/ Mac). I'll mainly be using it for Internet, then explore Garageband a little.
Thanks for any help.

For those specs I would say about $450-$500 will do the trick.

Ok, thanks. I'll have to do some watching on crigslist when I get enough money saved up. I saw one today with a 1.33GHz G4 with better specs than I am asking for only $300. I would jump on that but I don't even have $300 yet.
How much might a new battery cost if the battery that comes with it is dead? Can I get them at the Apple store? I'm not big on buying things over the internet and we have a new Apple store about 20 minutes away. -
Apple Store online has batteries even for older models (up to five years old or so I would say), so even if the local retail store might not have them in stock they can order them. For exact pricing, go to the online store (you seem to be in the US, so that'd be http://www.apple.com/store/)

Ok, thanks. I will keep that in mind when I get money to purchase an iBook.
Good pricing for a used iBook G4?
