Anyone made the jump from firefox/w.e browser they used to Chrome?
I know the Mac version isn't launched, i just wanted to know if anyone has used it?
If need be, delete this thread and direct me to where it should be

Nope, when was it launched? I am comfortable with firefox as it is in any case.
-
Until it has AdBlock, there's no way I'm switching from Firefox.
-
Yeah well this is a beta. But it should get better over time.
-
Khris; It does have an advertisement blocker, but I don't quite like it yet. It replaces ads with grey/white checkers.

Kinda funny how google would include an ad blocker, which blocks its own ads.
But I guess its still being read as a page view, its just people wont be clicking on them.
But yea, browsing the internet without an ad blocker is just so much of a hassle. Whenever I go over and use a browser that doesn't have it im just like "Eww, theres so many ads everywhere, making the internet look so ugly" -
I've played around with Chrome, and my initial thoughts on it are that it's snappy and simple. I was reading a bit on its architecture in how it works to prevent crashing and I'm shocked no other browser employs the relatively simple method it uses to prevent one tab from freezing all the other tabs in a browser session. I use IE7 in Windows and Safari in OSX for all my tasks.

There is currently no Mac version of Google Chrome, Sergey Brin was quoted as saying "its embarrassing". I haven't tried it on Windows, but that's the thing: there's no real incentive to. Firefox 3 is great, has tons of extensions, is fast, open source, everything.

Chrome is worth a look. The way it handles tabs and the concept of tabbing in general is pretty innovative.

Chrome having independent processes for each tab for better threading and crash-resistancy is such an obvious thing, but it's a wonder it's only now being introduced in browsers. -
I've recently put Google Chrome on my one and only (an old) custom made desktop PC (that's the only computer in my vicinity with Windows installed on it). I like it, it's intriguing and very snappy but I still prefer Safari and Firefox to it.

I've tried Google Chrome and like it very much so far: it's fast, simple, clean, elegant, and it's only a beta! Codecs work much better on it (Adobe, Flash, even inserted video in pages work!) and it consumes less memory. Also the 'Incognito mode' rocks.
Since I use the web only to surf the pages I am supposed to surf (email, some research using Google, forums here and there) 'adblocking' isn't really an issue for me, nor the lack of RSS capabilities.
Only problem here is that it is currently available only for Windows (which I very rarely use), so I am anxiously expecting the Linux version to be released.
Thanks.
