I just picked up a 31 week white 2ghz macbook- and it is completely free of defects. No moo, whine, or physicial problems. It runs my windows apps better then the decked out inspiron e1505 I ended up returning.

Cool! And welcome to the club!
-
what is a 31 week macbook?
-
used or refurbed
-
Some pple actually keep track of how many weeks old a computer is since its "birth"...
-
the macbook came out in may...how can it be 31 weeks old??
-
It's actually a reference to the week it was produced, not how old it is.]
-Zadillo -
I think he means it was produced in the 31st week of the year (not sure about that though, since that would mean it was literally just produced, but who knows).
EDIT: Actually, Week 31 would be anywhere between July 30th and August 5th, so I guess it is possible for it to have been manufacutered then. Definitely about as "brand new" as you can get though...
-Zadillo -
I think it means it was the produced during the 31st week in production, and it is found in the serial number after 2 letters, I can't remember which one's >.<.
-
Yes, i was speaking of the production week, my serial is 4H6 31XXXXXX.
It's right off the assembly line. -
Ive never heard anyone use such language when talkin about computers. Its not like cars where u talk about a '67 camaro or '99 mustang...
-
I stand, actually sit, corrected
-
lol- I don't call it my 31' or anything.
The reason I made that the topic is because I know alot of people try to figure out which production weeks moo or whines or whatever. Infact at this page: http://www.stainedbook.info/ there is a list and they keep track by production week which ones stained. -
yeah, I think he made it because people were still weary on wether or not to purchase a macbook because they are still fairly new and maybe some of the problems haven't been fixed yet, but ty for posting this, I am getting my macbook probably next week. +1 rep.
-
Sweet, have fun with her.
-
Indeed. It's also actually a pretty good indicator of how well the MacBook is selling - I mean, it says a lot that the MacBook he bought was literally just assembled so recently; as opposed to buying a MacBook that had been lying around in the back unsold for months.
-
I'll vouch for Kabooky on this one...I got my macbook on August 3rd and it has no problems or defects whatsoever. Everything is running smoothly (and very cool -temperature wise-). I think apple has worked out most of the kinks now, so don't let all the negativity get to you.
-
Where did you make the purchase? online/applestore.
I'll be picking up a MacBook within the next week or so and this is definately good to hear.
-
I bought mine in indianapolis actually- I was going to ask them to get me the newest serial, but the first one they brought out was a week 31.
If you go to an apple store, and they don't bring you out a fairly new one, just ask them to go back and see if they can find one. I'm sure at that stage in the buying process they wouldn't mind. -
Thanks for the tip! I was thinking buying online would land me the latest and greatest but your way is even better.
-
When you buy online- I don't think you even get to know your serial until there has been a cash transaction. In the stores- which I guess are stocked weekly, you may have the opportunity to select your computer by serial.
-
Yeah, when you purchase your Macbook/MBP and Apple sends you the invoice after you paid, it will state the serial number in it.
-
I bought a week 29 white macbook a few days ago and it hasn't exhibited the few quirks my week 19 black macbook has. I don't think I even heard a moo yet.
Got my 31 week macbook yesterday.
