Hey guys, having a problem with using my gTalk account with Adium and iChat.

I've set both to use talk.google.com and port 5222 (also tried 5223).

My id are setup as [email protected]. Most of the time with Adium, I get auth errors, even with the username and pass being correct. Last night, it randomly started working for a few hours, then said I was not authorized and disconnected.

Pretty much same issue with trying to use iChat. I used pretty much the same settings (setup as a Jabber account).

Anyone have any ideas? This is really annoying, since everyone at work uses gTalk and I'm pretty much stuck running it in Firefox or under Parallels.

I've never had an issue connecting adium to google talk. All you should have to do is File->Add Account->google talk, then fill out your log in and password.

That's all I've ever done with Adium and it's worked straight off. I would check with your ISP to see if they're blocking those ports that google talk wants to use.

I can't check with the ISP.

Normal gtalk works through Parallels. So it shouldn't be a server/port issue.

    Makes no sense!
