Try rebooting the system, mine installed seamlessly and I have a very old copy of the game (first year it came out). I just installed mine as a test for you i think 2 days ago.

hey thanks durious that worked perfectly! Now I gotta fix my router something's wrong with it... I was upstairs using the router and then I decided to come downstairs to get a better connection, then all of a sudden, it started asking me for the WEP key for the router but it hadn't asked that before and I don't know the password to the router either...

OK, I'm confused. So I made a disk image of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. Then I installed it and started playing to make sure it worked. Great, that's all nice and dandy, but afterwards what files am I allowed to delete? Because I started deleting some of the files and now it's not working. Can someone kinda sum-up the process I need to go about when I want to make a disk image of Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne so that I can play on Battle.net without the disc? Keep in mind, that the Frozen Throne is an expansion and it will have to know that the original is in fact, installed on the computer

Alright you got me on that post, I've never played WC3 without the discs on Windows or MAC... Actually didn't know that I could do that on Windows. If you figure it out let me know.. That'd be a lot easier

Just follow the How to Play Mac Games Without CDs/DVDs Guide. What files did you delete? Were you trying to make the disc image smaller to save precious hard drive space? It worked at first, right? So don't delete any files
.
I think that's the compromise you'll have to make if you want to play Mac OS games without a CD: sacrifice hard drive space with the image file for the convenience of not having to carry a CD everywhere. -
Yeah Durious I figured out how to run Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne without disc and still play on Battle.net. SO basically you put in the disc and load up disk utility. You make a new disk image and make the image format read-only. Then after the image is created, hit the eject button so that the tangible disc is removed. Now, install the game using the disc image (This may require you to reboot your computer as installing the first few times did not work for me). Repeat this process with The Frozen Throne and everything will be set!

haha man that's soo funny I've been on that since I came home from work trying to figure it out for ya. So I just came to post I got frozen throne working with it and ya got it figure to! nice !!
-
oh well sorry if it caused you any trouble! Thanks for the help though!
-
Yeah it'd be easier if it just was an install option! Darn companies making it so difficult.
-
hey Durious can you explain to me how to get on Battle.net on Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne without the disc? Because it was working earlier and now it's not...
-
Hey man, I'll have to check it back out I didn't try B.Net but I don't have the macbook today. My wife has it with her at work. I'll try to reinstall the game cause I had removed it as she was starting to use it more as my other book has almost arrived. I'll keep you update if I'm able to.

Am I invisible
? What files did you delete? Can you still play offline? You probably need to completely reinstall. And if you altered the image file(s), you'll need to redo that process as well (click the blue link for a general guide).

I'm not sure I've tried reinstalling. It'll work for a little while then when i reboot it stops working and starts asking me to insert a disc called "Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne"

SOrry I haven't had enough time to write a review. My school slammed me with 6 hours of homework on the first day of school and so on, so a review might be a little out of the question for the time being. But be aware, there will be an unofficial macbook review coming your way!

Looking forward to it!
