I'd like to rip one of my region 2 dvd's for backup using Handbrake, but I'm not sure which settings to use?
Should I use anamorphic (strict), or maintain aspect ratio? Or custom, and maintain the 720x576 resolution? I don't want the picture stretched or squished. Please help, I'm really confused on what settings to use. :(

Loose anamorphic maintains most ratio issues on playback, and speeds the conversion process.

There's a good guide to ripping discs and using Handbrake over at MaximumPC, which should give you all the info to use HB under OSX>

Thanks clearskies. I got an answer as well at the handbrake forums, one of them said either anamorphic is fine, or anamorphic: off as long as the keep aspect ratio button is checked. :)

imo, I would always use either loose or strict.
