    Since the announcement of the brand new 17 inch mbp, I have yet to hear any news about it, or any reviews. I want to place an order down, but according to the store website it says ships in 3-4 weeks. Blarg! The wait!!!

    Anyways, did anybody out there in the world besides prototype testers get it yet?

    Update: Apple has told at least one customer that it is waiting on certain components specific to the 17-inch MacBook Pro from its supply chain before it can begin shipping the notebooks.

    Does anyone know what these "components" are?

    Apparently (unconfirmed...) there are also some video issues that are present in the 15.4" line (artifacting and such) related to the card firmware that is being solved for the 17" line.

    Ah, that's good to know. I was afraid the gpu problem would carry over to the 17 inch. Maybe they're ordering a shipment of AS5? =p
