For those interested this guy used an infrared thermometer and compared the heat of the case from a MacBook to that of a Dell D620. Pretty interesting. The MacBook case gets hotter, but not too much hotter. It shows the difference between active cooling and passive cooling. Temps are in Fareinheight I believe.

Good test, but he was wrong "lacks cooling fans" what does he think that little hum is coming from when the fans kick in?

What he was reffering to was the way Apple does not use fans the same way as other manufacturers. My wifes Dell sounds like a jet half the time.

This was always our complaint both with our Dell laptops and the eMachines that I just got rid of. The Mac is MUCH quieter. Also the heat vent design is much more pleasing.
