Here's why there is not a $129 SL upgrade for Tiger users. Tiger users save money here.

i would just like to clarify before i upgrade (have no choice - new programs require leopard or above)

if i get the 9.99 install disk, will it work the same as the 29 upgrade? my friend just bought a mac and can get the upgrade disk for 9.99

Yea, no offense but this really is old hat. Since launch it's been confirmed that you can use the $29 SL upgrade disc to upgrade tiger. Also, there's no CD keys or regstration, you can use one $29 version of SL to upgrade multiple machines with no consequence. I found this out after Apple screwed up my pre-order and I got impatient with my other mac.

If you're looking for backup on the whole tiger direct upgrade, check ars [ www.arstechnica.com] if memory serves, they reported on both the tiger part *AND* the lack of registration of SL.
