Has any one been successful in buying Garage band 11.

I updated my Mac OS software to OSX 10.6.6, set up my account.
However, when I view view garage band11 from the Mac App Store it says already installed. Well I am still using garage band 9 on my Macbook Pro, so why don't I get the option to buy or upgrade?

Did you check the version you have? I have 11, and the version number is 6.0.1 (427.57).

I am having the exact same issue with the latest versions of both Garageband and iMovie, but strangely iPhoto is not presenting the same problem. I have the '09 version of iLife installed, but have not yet updated any of the three to 2011. I tried contacting Apple support, but they appear to be unable to help. Any help anyone can provide would be much appreciated.

Ok ok it worked, what I did was to delete the current version of garage band from my macbook. I made a backup copy before I did.

Then go back to the Mac App Store and it will see that you don't have it installed, hence allowing you to upgrade.

Well I have Garage band 11 ... so what?
There really is not much difference from the current version, honestly.

I thought there would be new loops and instruments.
Probably if you have a real guitar to plug into your apple you will enjoy some of the new amp effects.

You can run the current version of Garage band along side the new version on your macbook and see the difference. I run both versions of Garage band at the same time. The current version seems to be somewhat quicker than the newer version.
