    I tried getting info and just dragging the .ico file over its original icon, but that doesn't seem to work...

    How do I do it?

    copy w/e pic you want the icon to be. now find the app you want in finder and click get info. in the upper left hand corner there will be a little version of the current icon. click that once so that its highlighted and press command-v to copy the new pic. it should change.

    Uhm, I can't seem to find proprieties..

    I am of course talking about OS X...

    Sniper: it just changes to an icon showing like a page with a kid's picture and "ICO" underneath it...

    Yeah, that would be it..

    But it's still not working...

    edit: First I thought it was because of my ShapeShifter theme, because it comes with some icons, but then I uninstalled it, and tried again, but still nothing...

    I did. But I finally got it going...

    The thing was, the application I wanted to change its icon was owned by System and not by me, so I only had read-only access to it.

    Thanks for the replies!

    ok now i need to hijack this thread. ;) i just downloaded a butt load of different icons and after picking out the ones i like, i need some help. heres the ones i need to change that i cant figure out how to change. the icon for finder, the icon for a networked HD, the network icon, the trash icons, the icon for folders, the icons for cd's/ dvd's, and i think thats it. is there like one place i can go to change all those icons, or do i need to do it separetaly somehow? thanks.

    ==edit==

    would now also like to add to that list how to change icons for file types. ie- jpeg, mpeg, pdf, ect ect.

    You're welcome!

    How about your dock icons? Do they change back to the original when you launch them?

    Anyone else has any ideas about this, please?

    Thanks!
