This isn't really a huge issue, but I'm always curious - am I connected to a B network, a G network etc etc? How do you check in OS X?

Yes, yes. Lots of questions lately, but they're little niggly things I'm trying to resolve...

    Thanks guys.

Yes, open up Network Utility under Applications/Utilities/ and select Network Inferface en1 from the dropdown box if you are on a Macbook or MBP (Interface en0 is the ethernet).

You can also hold down the "Option" key and click on the Airport icon in the menu bar and it shows the transmit rate.

iStat doesn't show me anything other than in/out total in/total out. However, the network utility and Option key clicking the Airport icon show me speeds. Option + Click shows CURRENT speed, whereas the network utility shows me the link speed in general, which is good to see what speed the connection should be.

    Thanks guys!

Not quite, but thanks for that link. My speeds are all over the place, of course. :)
