    How do you quit the automatic multiple multitask on iPhone?

    There's so many things on my iPhone running and I would rather have a few apps of my choosing running on multitasking so that it doesn't slow the iPhone down as it does because it never logs itself out of apps even if they are rarely used.

    you don't... the iPhone takes care of it. You can close open apps though... just like moving Icons, when your looking at the multitask list press and hold til they shake, then you can close the apps that are running.

    ios automatically kills apps when it needs more memory. hence backgrounded shouldnt slow down your phone.

    The background applications have strict restrictions on what resources they are allowed to use in the background, shouldn't need to worry about it. Those "running" apps have generally just saved state and aren't actually doing anything.
