Is it stable? Does it run well with Dreamscene? Office 2007 working great? No driver issues?

This concerns the macbook pro mainly. Want to use Vista on a day to day basis.

In Boot Camp, no. The current Boot Camp Beta does not support Vista. Although you can install it using hacks, it lacks the proper drivers and is unstable.
In Parallels, it's good, although you will need 2GB of RAM or more (512MB - 1GB dedicated to Vista).

Aero will not work in Parallels. You do not have access to the video card. As for Boot Camp, I would expect a new beta for Vista soon.

Office runs perfectly in Parallelsed Vista. Although I would recommend saving your money for the new Office:Mac which is going to be out soon if you are planning to use Office on your Mac most of the time.
And yeah, Parallels currently does not support 3D Hardware acceleration, so you will not be able to run any 3D accelerated applications in it.

Since Vista is a resource hog (512 min) compared to XP (128 min), and Aero isn't supported in Parallels...can someone give me some insight on why someone would choose to use it over xp?

I don't think there is any reason to use Vista beyond wanting DX10. Security definently isn't good right now. Plus with all the problems with drivers and the annoying ass UAC thing...

If you have to buy the OS the price isn't much different and vista will be the OS you want in the future for compatibility and security in windows.

Well, security for one. Second, many people are using Windows to test their web pages, programs, etc. The newest version would be very helpful for that. Also, at this point if you are buying a new version of Windows, why not buy the newest. Vista is so far a good OS.

Now I admit, I have been out of it a bit lately, but from what I am seeing, the security on Vista is working so far. Will it work in 6 months? Who knows, but right now it looks much more secure than XP. Also, the UAC was fixed a long time ago. It is not nearly as bad as some earlier betas were. And driver issues will work themselves out over the next couple of months. That is perfectly normal.

I don't wanna sound like I am a huge Windows fan, but Vista looks like the real deal at this point.

I am running Vista Ultimate and Office 2007 on Macbook Pro using Bootcamp. There are only two drivers missing; one for "Performance Counter" and apple remote. Other than those, everything else runs great.

Only downside would be the short battery life which is around an hour which makes me to carry fancy power adpater whenver I go to a meeting. :)

... it uses the standard ati mobility drivers. But, preferably the Omega drivers ( I believe they are available for Vista).

One hour of battery is really bad... I wonder what the deal is with this?

Without any actual proof, I would guess it has something to do with the aero interface...perhaps since it is constantly keeping the graphics card running it could be using up a lot of extra power. Also, if there's only 1gb of RAM installed, the hard drive is probably being accessed a lot more than usual, so with 2gb RAM battery life might go up a bit more.

Even XP has relatively low battery life compared to OSX on the MBP...I only get about 100 minutes on average in XP, compared to about 140 (2 hrs 20min) in OSX doing the same sort of stuff.

Yeah, OSX seems to be king in terms of power management. XP isn't that bad though. All this extra overhead is not worth the upgrade, especially since XP can do anything that Vista can. If I want eye candy I'll be fine with OSX.

IIRC, there is no power management. Normally a notebook will have some power management, but under boot camp, the MBP does not.
