    Wondering how much of a performance difference there was between the 2.4ghz Macbook (white or black) and the 2.4 ghz MBP

    I really want the pro, i've had my heart set on it for a while, i love the aesthetics and everything, but it may be out of my price range.

    Specs
    * 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    * 2GB memory
    * 200GB hard drive1
    * Double-layer SuperDrive
    * NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB

    Also, there is a chance that I MAY pick up a game, and i don't want to have to buy something new because i want to do some light gaming.

    Thoughts?

    Edit: Also, how much is the rebate for the iPod Touch? I'm planning on paying 100 extra for the 16GB, does that mean i'll get 320 back?

    i think its a 300 dollar rebate... so i don't see why they would give you an extra 20 bucks back on top of that.

    if you buy a 400 dollars ipod they will still give you 300 back...

    the performance won't be any different unless CUDA takes over (they are apparently working on that in snow leopard) OR if you want to play games like half life 2 / source games, or call of duty 4, ut3... anything like that, the macbook can't do that.

    Depends on what tasks you are doing with them. Something processor-based won't have much performance difference, but gaming you will definitely notice a difference. If you can afford it, there's no real reason not to get the MBP unless the size and weight is too much.

    Size and weight is not an issue. 15 inch is good for me and i think it's weight is practically the same as that of the Macbook.

    I should be able to afford it if i can find a steady part time job. I may still just get the Macbook.

    Would the X3100 be able to play Pro evolution soccer?

    My thinking is that I should just grab a Macbook and then buy a console for gaming. When i think about it, i am paying around 500 dollars for a video card, a dvi adapter and an aluminum case.

    The X3100 should be able to handle Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 pretty well, but you might need to turn off some enhanced graphics features for it. I'm not sure if this game run's directly off of Mac OSX. You might need to consider getting a copy of Microsoft Windows to load on the MB/MBP to play it.

    Because in Canada they are $20 more so they give you a $319.99 rebate.
