How much a logic board replacement from Apple? I spilled gatorade on it, but I rinsed it out. It worked for a day and now it won't turn on. Logic board is fried.
How much a logic board replacement from Apple? I have a Macbook core 2 duo.
I had previously sent it to Irescue, and they told me everything was fried. At home, I turned it on and the trackpad wasn't working (well only right click was), there were x's over the battery life icon, the display was little blotchy, but i didn't mind and it ruined a CD we. Upon rinsing it out with water, it worked fine for a day then died. The crap in the gatorade made it corode and die.
After rinsing it out, everything was perfect. The keyboard, track pad, the logic board and the screen worked fine for a day. just the salt and nasty acids from the drink eventually fried the logic board.
I just wanna know how much a logic board replacement would cost from apple, and see if a third party would do it for less.

You would have to call Apple to be sure. The only problem is that it may not be your logic board, and it may not be limited to your logic board. Gatorade is about the worst thing you could spill in there. Take it to either an Apple Store or an authorized repair center and I am sure they can tell you how much it will be.

If Irescue is telling you everything is fried, I probably would not even bother trying to replace your logic board. Especially if the screen has gatorade/water in it and the trackpad is not working properly. Also, the keyboard is likely no good, or at least will never be the same. If it got into the SuperDrive, which it seems like it did if it ruined a CD, then your SuperDrive is likely no good either. It will probably be more cost effective to just buy a new MacBook.
If you really want to know how much it will cost, just call Apple. They will have the exact up-to-date price. 3rd parties seem to be in the range of $500. -

I think it was a fluke that it worked again, unfortunately, jway0920.
My best suggestion is to not bother to fix it; costs will run to at least $500. While you can get a refurbished MacBook (which is almost good as new) for around $800. -
Ebay the thing. You can get a pretty nice chunk of change, regardless of the condition, to use towards a new Macbook.
Broken Macbooks are in pretty high demand. There aren't all that many of them available, yet. -
That is a very good point. With the money you receive added to the money the repair would have cost you should not be out too much money and you will have a known good notebook. Just be sure to list the auction as parts, not a usable computer of course.
