Of course, I meant sources for the rumor. :) I wasn't expecting a press release but there's always a trail to follow. Thanks for the tip!

Serious question here, do many of you find the 2.4ghz C2D really lacking? I certainly don't, and I have Windows 7 x64 running here right now on Parallels.

I do wish it has a 1600x900 screen like the Sony Z. Better still, keep the 13.3" 16:10 and make it 1600x1050 and I'll trade them both for it.

Anyway, I find the 2.4ghz Core 2 Duo plenty speedy.

The P8600 is not in the least obsolete and can hold its own well. Even against the latest i3s. Moreover, unlike the i-core series, the P8600 can be undervolted in win7.

But, of course, the next iteration of the Macbook Pro 13" will have to use an i-core processor.

I suppose an option for 16:10 - 1680 x 1050 would be in order. But at 13", that's pushing it. 1440 x 900 would probably be a better bet as an option.

Let's just put it this way.........my MBP is the one machine I'll most likely never sell or replace. Of course it's a compliment to 2 other PC's, so if I do come across any deficiencies, they're canceled out by one or both of my other machines (the 14" Dell has the same CPU & memory, but a smaller HD)

If they implement the i-core processors what will become of the IGP?

reading the reviews on newegg, people aren't very happy with the momentus XT... I've never been a fan of Seagate as well.

I'm thinking about getting the macbook 13", but I'm worried it might be too small considering I'm on a 14.5" laptop. Anyone have any input?

I agree. I run Win7 x64 with VMWare and it performs well (after an HD swap to a 500gb drive and a memory bump to 8GB). I can run Star Craft 2 on medium settings too. The only gripe I have is with the screen resolution being 1280x800. If it was 1440x900 that would be perfect, but not sure they can squeeze that amount of pixel density into the 13.3" form-factor.

Like L3vi said, Apple probably will not do it. Why? It will definitely cut into says of the 15" MBP.

Yes they can do it. The 13" Sony Z has a standard 1600x900 screen. Full HD 1920x1080 is optional, YES on a 13" screen! I'm perfectly fine viewing the 1600x900 on my Z - it's more or less like running 1920x1080 on a 15.6" screen, both on 100% DPI setting in Windows.
