I am gonna sell my 1TB 840 EVO to a guy who has a MacBook PRO (1.5 years old)
How do I go about cloning the contents of the HDD on to the SSD before doing the upgrade?
I read a guide online but it says I need Carbon Copy Cloner which is like $39.99 USD
Is there a free way to do this?
Thanks

Samsung's migration tool might work for what you need to do : Samsung Data Migration Software: The simplest way to get your new SSD up and running | Samsung SSD....
or Clonezilla!- Clonezilla - About
you could also check these other free programs out: just to give you more options

This is a Mac, I don't think the Samsung Migration Tool works for a mac? it's an EXE file

How about clonezilla? Clonezilla - About
and you know..carbon copy cloner does offer a fully functional 30-day free trial...Ferris23 likes this. -
just download carbon copy cloner and it'll just tell you that you can only use it for 30 days. it'll work if you're just looking to clone it once. and even though it's a 30 day trial i think you can just remove and redownload it, doesn't make you register or anything.
