e.g. "Save/Don't Save/Cancel"
The highlight is always on "save" and I can't change the highlight, only a border highlight that does nothing. I have to move the mouse to do it instead. It's annoying

Tab is what you're looking for

IIRC tab doesnt work for these buttons like it does on windows ??

Nah, just kidding, I have nothing against Macs (at least I better not; Sam's here!
)

Oh. I was using Tab before, of course. It moved the blue border to the next button, but hitting return did nothing but the default action.
Turns out I need to use Space instead. Cheeky. -
Interesting...well, it doesn't work that way on my MacBook. Its just Tab to toggle between options, and Enter to select that option.
-
You can also (mostly) use Command + the first letter (i.e. Command + D for "Don't Save") to select an option, and escape always cancels.

If you want to select the button with a blue border press the spacebar, the solid blue buttons are pressed when you press return : D
Kinda neat, eh? -
Yes, the tab button moves only the blue border but you just need to press Space instead of Enter after moving it. Somehow Enter works only for default choice.
P.S. Sorry, sulkorp, seems I missed that there was a 2nd pageQuite neat but requires some time to remember
