What is the best way to uninstall the trial of office 04? I don't want to leave to many extra files around.

There should be an uninstaller in the Office folder, just run it.

The uninstaller is called Remove Office. Just search for it using Spotlight or Finder.

Take the entire office folder-drag to trash-go to finder-empty trash.

I tried running the uninstaller and in the area where it asks to click the items I want uninstalled there were none available. I just trashed the folder and used spot light to find the rest of the stuff. I'm starting to like the mac. Not sure how it keeps everything in order without a registry yet though.

Curious, I always wondered how Windows kept everything in order WITH a registry... oops, it doesn't.
This is one of the most ill-effects of the Windows monoculture. People actually do not even imagine that things can be done in a different way... well they can (I concede one can discuss whether it's better or not, but most people won't even think that there are alternatives).

A great app for uninstalling stuff is AppZapper. It will find all the pieces for you.

appzapper looks great, but is there a free version? One difference I have noticed is windows has countless free software that can be easily found.

you can use appzapper for free for 5 uninstallation, then you can buy it if you want
or there's another app like appzapper which is free, ... but i forgot the name, but you can find it (if i remember well enough) on the mac user guide

oh, and when uninstalling, do NOT drop the app in the rubbish bin, use appzapper or another app because dropping an app in the bin does not remove all the app
