Everyone says you can use garageband as a voice recorder. Ive never used it before and am having trouble figuring out how this works. What are the steps you take to make it record voice?

Is it Garageband that you must use for voice recording? If not then you can use Quicktime, it has an easy audio/video or audio only voice recording as long as you are using a Mac with a mic.

You can also use Garageband. Open the interface and select "Track" then "New Track". Choose "Real Instrument Track" then you will have the option to use the built in mic on your Mac or plug in an external mic. I don't know for sure if you would need to connect a mixer or an amplified mic because the input on some Macs is a line level and not an actual mic input.

Still Quicktime is easier however I think it needs to be Quicktime Pro to use voice recording.
