I'm stupid.
I got a new LG Chocolate yesterday, and it came with some software (that is MAC compatable, I checked) - the software was in miniDVD form....and me having a Macbook (slot-loading, not a tray) .............ya, you guys can figure out the rest. It's stuck, and I feel stupider then ever. I called my local Apple store and they told me that if they had to disassmble it, then it would cost me atleast $280 dollars, however he said they may be able to remove it without pulling out a screw driver. What should I do guys?? I have a Genius Bar appt at 5pm today, but Im freaking out!!!!!!! I feel like such an idiot, but I guess I got what I deserve. Any suggestions????

Nothing you can really do. Go there an hope for the best.

By the time you read this I guess you've already gone to the genius bar.
If doing it yourself there are four screws to be removed from the optical drive once it is out of the laptop. Looking from the front of the drive they are on the right hand side and the back. The top cover can then be slid backwards approximately 2mm and lifted up. This will expose the disks inside which can then be carefully removed.
Again, this is a procedure best left up to an Apple certified tech.
It was pretty dumb for LG to have mac compatible software on a miniDVD considering the fact that all new Macs have slot loading drives. Maybe you can sue them?!? -
That reminded me of some news (a rumor) I read some time ago, Apple developing mini-disc adapter for slot-loading drives.

Try restarting your Mac while holding in the EJECT key on your keyboard and not letting go. If that doesn't work, try pushing in the mini DVD a bit more into the slot and repeat the process.
-
Also try the following:
- Go to /System/Library/Core Services/Menu Extras/ and double-click Eject.menu, then click the Eject icon in the Menu Bar. You can remove this icon by holding Command and dragging it onto the Desktop.
- Open Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/) and type "drutil eject" without quotation marks and press Return.

I hate mini CD's I don't even trust them with tray loading drives let alone slot loading.

Not really anything you can do, other than the things Xander and Budding said. Apple's generally nice though, I don't think they'll charge you for it
. At least, since this is already a pretty late reply, I hope they didn't
.

MBP's should come free with external mini cd drives connected via USB. If not free then of slight charge.
