So i have been waiting to buy one for a while and this afternoon me and my wife went to the Apple store in Tampa. Just to look of course.
I was going to buy an iMac but I said screw it and left depressed... anyway as I was driving down Hillsborough ave I saw a CompUSA was closing and had 10-40% off all inventory.
SUre enough I saw the base model macbook pro at 1499.99 and scooped it up quiiick!
Just wanted to share my joy and let anyone else in the Tampa area know as well

$1399 or $1499? 2.2GHz or 2.4 GHz? Apple Refurbished is selling at $1699.

Base = 2.2.

Sorry it was 1499, i was excited and mistypped.
I wish i had more money because I sure would have bought more.
It is the 2.2 model which i am sure isn't the greatest but damn it is worth it.
If you are in Tampa area go and get it now... he said there were at least 10 to 15 left. -

I have a base model MBP and it smokes my desktop easily. Only problem is I wish the hard-drive on the MBP was user-replaceable so I can fit all my applications and data files on it
.
Have fun with your new bundle of joy! -
I feel like I got screwed when our CompUSA closed down. They had several signs saying "No discounts on Apple products!".
Sniffle. -

Ok so I called down there in an attempt to see how much longer this deal was going on. I was told all day and it wasn't a mistake... so i would suggest grabbing one if you ar ein the area...
