I'm trying to record this http://live.wildstang.org/midwest.php. The free version of real player doesn't allow me to save the stream and I can't get VLC to work. Right now I'm caught between neglecting my midterm exams or missing out on watching my robotics team...

Is there a way access the video real player keeps in its buffer?

It sounds like the easiest solution is to use screen recording software. There's almost no freeware version out there, but there are some pretty cheap ones such as screenium. I've never used it personally, but it looks like something you could use.

Check through the various offerings at versiontracker. You'll probably have to pay at least a little bit to get a full featured one.

The one that I have used with great success is SnapzProX, though it's a bit costly.
