Hi, I have a fairly new (bought it last October) Macbook which hasn't been used an awful lot, and is still in excellent condition. I'm interested in selling it, cause I don't use it much and I really need the money more. I spent $1400 total, including a sleeve and an iwork software package - the sleeve and iwork are unopened and never-used. I'm thinking of selling the Macbook for $1100 or $1200 including the sleeve/iwork. Does this sound like a good price?

I've only used the Macbook minimally - it's been hard for me getting used to it and I went back to my HP laptop. To sell, is it best to restore the macbook to its original settings? And if so, how do I do that? I'm hoping to do it myself, instead of taking it to a computer-repair person, but whatever. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks, Greg

    *It's a 13" wide-screen with 2 Ghz Intel Core2Duo processor, 2 GB memory, and 160 MB hard drive.

Sounds pretty fair. I'd buy it if I was looking for a notebook.

The day before you ship the computer to your buyer just insert the Leopard Install DVD and do a clean install. After the installation is complete, when restarting, click the power button to force it to shut down.

When your buyer receives the computer and turns it on, he will get the Welcome to Leopard screen just like you got it when you un-boxed it for the first time.

Is it the white or alu macbook? If its the alu one the the price is fair, but if its the white one then you might have to drop the price abit as they are now cheaper new then what your asking. Perhaps you can put it on ebay and see what you get?

NIB aluminum macbooks are going for around 1100 on ebay. Selling a used one for 1200 most likely won't happen regardless of what software/case that comes with it.

Regarding a clean install, I don't have a Leopard Install DVD. I only have a 'Mac OS X Install DVD' and an 'Applications Install DVD. Do I still need the Leopard, and if so where do I get one? Greg

    lol.

@greg1: Don't worry, OS X = Leopard, so that Install DVD is the one you want...

I search for items through the model number. I see items ending for 1050-1175 all the time. Used ones go for 1000 usually.
