Hi Mac users,
I currently run a very nice gaming laptop that does everything I want but I have one thing I don't think is possible to do. I don't think it is possible to write Ipod Touch apps with it. I'd like to get into this just to try it. I'd like to know if macbook or macbook pro would work for this or if I should be looking at a mac mini or imac for this kind of thing. If anyone can offer advice on this specific area I would appreciate it.
If I am wrong about Mac necessity for this type of programming I'd like some advice on that too.
Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

You could try xcode.

I write iPhone apps on an almost three year old Macbook. So basically, any Mac out right now will serve you fine. Basically, you need something that can run Xcode.

a basic mac mini would do fine...are there other any other things that you are going to do on that computar?

This is great news. I will be looking to get a Mac Mini. Appreciate all the quick replies everyone.
I have a few ideas on apps and I currently program for Peoplesoft in the Healthcare industry and do a little web based things but I want to branch out and I thought I'd try to see what I could do with Ipod touch since I enjoy the thing so much.
We also get apple discount pricing at work.
