I'm ebaying my Imac Core 2 Duo and how do I format it, so that the new owner can enter his or her information in the computer?

    Insert the OS X CD.
Restart your computer while holding down 'c' to boot from the DVD drive.
    Follow the on screen instructions.

btw, i found a software that the DoD (US Department of Defense) uses to deep clean their hard drives to get rid of any and all private information. i am going to be using WipeDrive then re-installing Vista on my dv6000t prior to returning it to them this saturday.

i know its a bit late, but what the heck, just in case anyone else needed ideas.

Well, almost - the default option is "archive & install", which keeps the old user etc. You want "erase & install", which is found when you click the "options" button (it's a few screens into the installation). That will erase what's on there and install the basic system just like when you first bought it.

Hope this isn't too late or that you've figured it out already :)
