IPod Feature Requests

The number one thing I wished the IPod's to have is a built in FM-Tuner. That was the tipping point for me getting a Zune for when I go to the gym over the IPod Shuffle. Apple needs to get on the ball here.

What feature(s) do you wish your IPod had?

Edit: One more thing... having a black color option for the Shuffle would have been nice.

 

I've had an iPod, and while it was handy, it wasn't the best thing I've used. A few realistic recommendations are:

-Scrap the 'whitebuds'. They suck. A lot.
-Wireless music 'sharing'. Since everyone and their grandma has an iPod, why not take advantage of that?

Unrealistic are:
-User replaceable batteries

 

I wish my iPod had internet radio, and that its web browser supported flash, and that it could download files from the internet, and that it could play h264 encoded avi/mkv files, and that I didn't have to pay for software updates. I also wish it could dual boot Windows

it would be nice to have a repeat function, that did not mean ever song got repeated, buried deep in a menu.

I forgot about that! That would be awesome, but I don't see this happening in my lifetime.

 

Well, that would be music industry more than Apple/iPod/iTunes.

Anyway, I'd like more selection, drop the chrome back, better earbuds, more customization allowed. That's about it!

 

One more thing I'd like to see on the IPod Touch version: allow it to be used as a portable hard-disk drive. I bet with the upcoming update for the IPod Touch / IPhone SDK that this will be made possible, but Apple might still say "no-no-no". The other IPod's allow for this, why not the IPod Touch (unless I'm missing something here)?

 

Are you kidding, 80 GB would just be too big for a nano.

Well, for me, I got an iPod so I didn't need to listen to the radio . So I understand where some might want it, but for me, I'm happy without it, if that meant bringing up the cost and weight.

 

How about a new audio/sound card?

Like the ones used in the Sony A818 walkmans. The best sound coming out of an mp3 player that i have ever heard

 

I don't want an FM tuner. Living in the LA area, all the radio stations around here are nothing more than 40 minutes worth of commercials for every 25 minutes of music. Plus FM tuners add bulk to the player and shorten battery life. The reception is never good anyway.

a calculator (isnt much to ask is it?)

better earphones with the option of in ears (cannal phones are the best!)
