This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     It may be different than what you're used to on Windows, but it's not old. Give Colloquy a try ;).

    Well.. there arent too many irc clients for os x.

    I think those two are the only decent ones at this moment. I might be wrong though. Im personally using colloquy and liking it very much. But heard many ppl saying, especially ones coming from windows environment that Snak is really nice, so I might give it a go sometimes..

    Ircle has been an good irc client to me the odd time i use it. its not free, but has a trial, i don't remember how disabled it gets at the end of the trial though.
