I know that's how it is with the iPod (you have until the first warranty dies to get the second). Still need to get that one too come to think of it.
Just curious, cause I would love to get a MacBook for my Grad School subission work (plays) and pay for the warranty later on.
Thanks!

Excellent. May have to go with one of these then. They seem like excellent little machines. Gonna wait to see thet Dell XPS 1210 though, just in case

Getting the Applecare Protection Plan is worth it for notebooks for sure - three years is a long time in the notebook world
As the previous poster said, try getting it a while before the end of your original warranty (or as soon as possible, really).
And of course it also gives you phone support beyond the original 90 days, which can't hurt. -
Sorry Starlight, not meaning to highjack your thread, but really need to ask. Does this also apply for PC brands like ASUS and Acer? I'm getting a notebook soon (not a real high budget you see) so this would help me make my decision a fair bit.
Thanks! -
From what I recall, you can only buy the optional additional warrantee for ASUS at the time of purchase, while Acer has...I think 14 days? I know it's under a month.

If I get MacBook, I have 1 year to get the 3 year warranty, right?
