I mean, I love the white version of the Macbook. If it only come out in Black, I would be quite upset, as I ahve waited for Merom this long.

I doubt you'll be seeing merom in a MB for a while. The priority will be MBP and iMacs... then probably mini's and MB. So maybe in nov we'll see the MB w/ them. And I doubt they'd put merom in just the black version.
-
You serious?
School starts next week for me -___- -
Well lately it has appeared that the ibook (when it was still around)/macbook were always last in revisions. So I agree, it's most likely the MB will be last as well as not getting it right away.
It seems to many that it'll be around january that it will be out in MB, you gotta remember that Apple is under incredible strain right now from the current MB configuration and trying to get many of them orders out right now, to do a revision now would only seem to increase that on themselves.
But...you never know? I think it'd be cool if it got it at the same time MBP does, but I wouldn't get your hopes up, especially as I said that the MB is the one that gets all the updates last apparently. -
January?
November I can still understand, but January is just pushing it =/
If it's going to be in January, I might as well get mine now, and get the Nano promotion. -
mere speculation
-
I wish Apple would just announce something and end my misery.
-
indeed. But I think it'll be fairly accurate that it'll be some time before MB gets merom.
-
Should I order a MacBook now, and forget Merom, then?
-
Just see what happens on the 12th of September at Apples 'Showtime' and decide then, if they don't announce anything or the Apple Store doesn't show anything, then just decide then what you want to do.
-
That would be so **** stupid if Apple only put Merom in the Black Macbook, but then they could say that was their plan, and then the Black Macbook would have more of a justifiable reason as of spending the extra cash, but maybe if it was a Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz instead of the 2.0 GHz.
-
I don't see why anyone would even suspect this to be the case. When they change cpu in the Macbook, they'll do it to both the white and the black models. I really can't see anything else happening. So I wouldn't worry if I were you. However, I also don't think they'll announce them in the Macbook yet, they'll want it to be something a little more exclusive (ie. only in the Macbook Pro) first I'm sure.
Wait and see is all we can do, it's fun to speculate though
-
Everyone is constantly talking about the Merom will be exclusive to the MBP. I do not understand that thought process. The competition is with the PC MARKET. Apple is ordering millions of processors, MILLIONS for the holiday season. Technology says Merom are in now and the Core Duo are on the way out. That is how business works
Why would Apple want to buy Millions of Core Duo processors for their Macbooks when the Merom is similarly priced on a wholesale level? Think about folks we are not talking about 10,000 processors we are talking about Millions. Intel will drastically reduce production of the Core Duo.
I think people are thinking in an entirely subjective manner. Let us be a little bit logical and think about the grand scheme of things and that it is all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$ -
HRm, I don't think anyone is saying that the Merom will be exlusive to the MBP. Most of us are speculating that the MBP will get it a month or so before the MB does. As as the MB is selling, they won't have enough chips to supply both the MBP and MB with Merom, and the MBP is the elder notebook, so will get the upgrade first (theoretically).
-
Plus, remember the MacBook would have probably been all CoreSolo chips if Intel had not pushed the hell out of CoreDuo's. I think the market will dictate. The MBP will get them first and then the MacBook will get them as other similarly priced/sized notebooks are becoming more available.
-
If I would buy a macbook on monday and tuesday, apple announces to ship merom macbooks in a week, could I then get a free upgrade? Someone told me that it's stated in your contract with apple...
-
They usually will tell you a longer ship date than normal if an update is coming, and they will send you the new one. It is unlikely though that a new MacBook will drop in the next week.
If the Merom is only avaible in the Blackbook, I would cry
