Hello everyone, in Apple Mail how do I get real old e-mails? If I use programs like thunderbird or Outlook it gives me all my old e-mails how do I make Apple mail do that?

Also where can I find a mac version of WinRar?

I am not sure how to get your old messages. You could get them off your old PC by exporting them and throwing it on a thumbstick, then Import it with Mail. But to download them, I am not sure.

As for WinRar, why do you need it. I don't believe Mac supports .rar files. If you need an expander, OS X will unzip any files you should need. You can also get StuffIt Expander for those that OS X may not download. I don't know about a compressor though if that is what you need.

    I found one:

    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/25535

If you don't like that one, google "rar on OS X" and several will pop up. Also, I would try to stay away from compressing in rar. It is not the most standard format in the world, and that can lead to problems.

Well, thats up to you, but understand if in the future that something unfortunate happens, you probably just killed the entire system because you used an account that has powers to change just about everything without the need to enter in a password.

It's highly recommended not by Cashmonee and me, but also by Mac-geared magazine publications to create an limited account for everyday use.

P.S. I told you that you'd get it today ;)

Its up to you if you want 1 admin and 1 limited or 1 Admin for changes, 1 admin for diagnostic and 1 limited.

To copy over your files you already have such as documents and pictures, move all of them to Macintosh HD >Users > Shared. Put your files in there, and than go back one folder so you can see the outside of Shared again, and do crtl click > Get info. Now push the arrow for Owner and permissions, and you might have to do Details under that and under Group: Everyone and select Read and Write and hit the button 'Apply to enclosed items...' exit out of the Get info window and go to your new Limited account and you'll find all the files in Shared to be ready to move over to your new account.
