Does anyone use InsomniaX and if so how well does it work? I am looking for a way to make my uMB stay on so it can download stuff while the led is closed but want to make sure this program is good and stuff.

    Thanks

I use the latest version (1.3.5) and have absolutely no problems with it.

I purchases Sleepless awhile back, but I find that InsomniaX works much better! Sleepless keeps your Mac awake by what seems to be a simulated keystroke or mouse move. Because of this, your keyboard backlight never dims (unless you turn it off) and your screensaver will never stay on. Two huge annoyances for me and why I'm back using InsomniaX since it's been updated for Snow Leopard.

    +1 for insomnia here too.
Although I prefer caffeine for keeping the display on while watching youtube vids etc.

I tried Caffeine as well before sleepless, was underwhelmed with it.

    ^^^
I like it, simple one click on/off function, and when I still want my lappie to sleep when shut, i find caffeine a better fit. I was finding that I would sometimes forget that I had insomnia on (for just preventing the screen dimming/screen saver), and then my battery would die out. So I only use Insomnia for when I need the laptop to stay running with the lid closed.

That's pretty much my main reason for using InsomniaX, hence why I like it better. :)

I use it all the time when I use clamshell mode with battery power. Does the job.
