Hi,
I am trying to install starcraft on my macbook. I downloaded the native installer but for some strange reason, everytime the program starts to install, it would spit the disc back out. I thought the disc was scratched and cleaned it;but the same thing happens. I did a little research and here is what I found

Blizzard acknowledges the issue, but doesn't seem to provide a solution for it. Please help. Has anyone ever installed Starcraft on their macbook sucessfully?
Thank you very much.

Yeah.... make an iso image (using disc utility under applications->utilities).
Mount that (no need for any tools, OS X knows how to mount it) and you should be good to go. -
Ic,I'am going to try that, thanks

I turned my sc disc into a .dmg and then I mount it. But the installer is still asking me for the disc. =( What should I do..
-
Well you could try running it under bootcamp, but that is hardly a solution.

i got warcraft 3 to work, no problems. i was unaware starcraft was osx compatible, but am reading all blizzard soft is.
ill try my SC cd later, and post back results -
I believe the image has to be an ISO not a DMG. DMG != ISO.
I don't think that the starcraft installer will see a mounted DMG the same as a mounted ISO.
If it still doesn't work... I dunno :-/ -
i got w3 to work too, but grrr just can't get SC to work =(
-
just to check, but you are using the os x installer from the web to try to install it right? cause the installer on the discs is for os 9.
otherwise i say keep trying as it can be done, my friends have it on there macbooks. -
