I've installed Parallels on my Macbook Pro OS X and am wondering if there is a way to install Windows xp from a Toshiba backup dvd? This is the only Windows install that I have which came with my previous laptop - Toshiba. Obviously, I prefer not to have to purchase Windows; any suggestions?

Pre-installed copies of Windows on PC's are not legally able to be transferred to other machines. It's also against the forum rules.

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
dbam is correct on both counts.
For a MS install via Parallels, Fusion etc you need to use a retail or system builder copy of Windows. OEM backup copies are license violations.
Best place to purchase this would be NewEgg. -

Don't know why you made a new topic... -
Thank-you for the replies, I wasn't aware this was in violation
Now that I know, I will be purchasing the latest version of Windows 7!
