The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Installing iLife 08/iWorks08

    I've been looking, but can't find the answer to this simple question: do I need to first uninstall iLife 06 and iWorks 06 before installing the 08 versions, or will the new versions simply replace the older files and leave me with the new programs?

    I didn't find the answer on Apple's support page (probably just did see it) or find it in the documentation with the programs. Thought I'd run it by here.

    Just install it. It should update fine. In fact, when installation starts, it'll say "Upgrade version of xxxxx" instead of "install version of xxxx".
