I got a 2.5" caddy from ayagroup and did not screw in any of the three screws that came with the SuperDrive (and only have two of them on hand) because it seemed tight in place. There's also space between the hard drive and the open area which leads me to believe maybe the SSD is rattling when mistreated:

what do you think? should i screw in the superdrive screws?

got this caddy , 2.5" adapter. But there's a gap between where the drive fits in and securing the drive.
If I go back in there and secure it with electrical tape, do you think that will be alright?
This drive fits in the computer fine but the SSD itself is held in by the adapter with empty space between that and the walls of the empty slot for the drive.
I only realized this being an issue over time because if i lay the computer down, I can feel a bit of a rattle/movement ever so slightly. -
Since you're doing a bit of jerry-rigging, you might want to also stuff it with packing foam to keep it from jostling about.

yea, electrical tape works.

I'd put back all the screws you can. And if the drive is still loose fitting in the caddy, then yeah...padding it with electrical tape would be fine.

Is Electrical Tape securing SSD ok?
