I check my battery count almost every day, what I have noticed is that the full charge capacity decreases by around 5 every day. Three days ago it was at 5182, and now it's at 5169. I run my laptop on external power most of the time. Is such steady decrease normal?

Why do you check it everyday? I've had my 13"mbp since June; according to coconut Battery, the original mAh was 5450, currently at 5513 at 73 cycles. Normal. I make a habit of using it sometimes not plugged in, better for battery life, even if apple says it doesn't matter.

Then don't comment about things you aren't informed about.

Battery capacity will go down over time. It's how batteries work. They lose capacity and there is nothing you can do about it short of replacing it.

You should calibrate your battery once a month if you mainly use your Mac on mains or once every couple months if you use your battery on a regular basis.

I have 124 cycles with 86% health on my year old Unibody MacBook. Part and parcel of owning a laptop.

that sounds unusually low. im on 150 odd charcge cycles and still 99% capacity. my macbook pro 17" is on 400 charge cycles @95% capacity (yes i have calibrated the batteries it is acurate)

Don't check it every day and stop worrying about it, there is nothing to worry about, if something goes wrong with your battery it is covered under Apple care.

If you run your laptop on external power all the time, I would just disconnect the battery from the system. This will save your battery life in the long run, as you're not overly charging it all the time
