I about to buy a macbook pro, and I wanted to know if there were any benifets (namely price benefits) in calling apple opposed to just ordering it online.

There's usually no haggling with Apple so it doesn't make a difference where you order it. I'd prefer online because there's less of a chance for any mistakes, such as address, credit card numbers, etc.

When I ordered mine over the phone (I originally called to ask specific questions about the machine on launch day and ended up ordering over the phone) the customer rep told me that the only advantage is that when ordering over the phone they tend to ship out faster. Mine shipped out pretty fast, but I doubt it is any different than the internet, I bet he just wanted a commission (which is fine, he was a nice enough chap)...

After you order try calling Apple on the phone to cancel. I did this in June and they offered me a $50 discount and expedited shipping for free. If you don't get an offer then just don't cancel

I did something similar with a student discount.

Hmm, wonder if I could have gotten more off of my adc discount.
The only thing I know of is that things tend to get done faster when ou call them, thats what happend with me. Good Luck. -
I doesn't make a diffrence. Personally I prefer to order online instead of through a client rep -
I prefer to buy mine at the Apple Store. That way I can open it up in the store and take a look at it before walking out. It's always cool to check out the goodies at the store too.
Is it better to order a macbook over the phone rather over the internet?
