I compared my LED LCD to my roommates old MBP LCD. He wanted to have a LED LCD after he saw mine~~ :)

The problem is that he does not want to buy a new MBP... Is it possible for him to just buy a LED LCD some where and replace his current LCD?

And where can he buy an Apple 15.4'' LED LCD? Since LCD is not a DIY part so he can't get it from Apple ...

(Personally I think he can't simply replace his old LCD with a LED one but I am not sure. )

Tell him to find a fiend, preferably a room mate or something like that, who owns a LED Macbook Pro. Then simply swap their hard drive with yours and comment on how crappy he LED notebook is when the screen looks like a crummy old LCD after only a few weeks.

theoretically, there is nothing to stop you from doing it, assuming you have the correct parts, tools, and ability to attach whatever wires are running through there.

to replace a screen, you would either have to send it to apple - (who would probably charge you at least $1000, plus you woud have to convince the apple repair guy that you had an LED screen in the first place and that it was broken, it might take a few extra hundred dollars to convince him of that) or find a brand new broken macbook pro (with an unbroken LED screen) on ebay.

if you can do that, im sure its possible to replace a screen.

i wouldn't want to do it myself, but i know it has to be possible.
