Is it weird that my MBP never gets hot?

I constantly hear horror stories about Macs heating up to the point where they are untouchable. When typing/browsing, my palmrests always stay cool. The weird thing is... when gaming, they are no different. They are always at a comfortable temperature.

    smcFanControl

    Typing/Surfing: ~120 F,
    Gaming (Dirt 2, high-max settings): ~180 F

And my palmrests have never been uncomfortable. The only time my computer got really hot was Flight Simulator X under Boot Camp - and then it was only the GPU around maybe 210 F; the rest of the computer was nice and cool as usual.

So... even on Notebook Review I constantly hear people joking about how Macs overheat, and people saying they don't want a Mac because they want a computer that "must stay cool."

So is it weird then that my Mac always stays so cool?

P.S. The specs are in my signature.

they don't necessarily get hot on the palm rest. Are you using a thermometer to measure the temp on the palm rest?

Anyway, you might find hotter areas by experimenting with the rest of the case temperatures, but those temperatures seem within spec. I'm not sure what your criteria for "really hot" is, or why it seems to be specific to the palm rest temperature.

heat tends to be more on the CPU, GPU, as well as back and bottom of the chasis. my palm rests dont get hot but I have had the CPU throttle from heat many a time

That's because the battery and hard drive, two components that generate very little heat (compared to the CPU and GPU), are under the palmrests.
