On the left side of my macbook pro, where the black part on the outer edge of the screen where it meets the metal part, there is a slight gap and small pieces of stuff can get through. There is actually a small piece of paper in it...Is the gap supposed to be there for ventilation or something?

It was actually on the right side, my bad. You can kind of see a white speck between the black and silver part of the mb; that's a small piece of paper I think. The picture is kind of blurry because my cellphone and my other camera is discharged at the moment and I can't find the charger. The piece of paper is pretty small, if you guys can't make a good judgment from the pic, I will upload another with a different camera. Thanks.

I don't see any way to tell from a picture like that...

it shouldn't have a noticeable gap of any type.

Yea, it was only noticeable when I saw a white speck in it. Will the Apple store replace it if it has been 3 weeks since I've been using it?

if you have one nearby... might as well stop by and show them and ask about it.
